Welcome!

Welcome!

Welcome to my cozy corner of the world! I am beyond excited to be finally starting my blog! If you are curious about the name, I will give you the story behind the name Spitfire and Starlight. In the past few months, I have been doing a lot of internal reflection of what I want to do long term through focused alone time and asking to be shown in dreams. To make a long story short, I kept coming back to having this beautiful Italian villa to host weddings and events. Now getting that venue is a while off from now, I kept having the name the Villa of starlight popping up. In Italian, it is villa di luce stellare. I thought since that is my dream – I want to have something to remind me of it every day. Hence the starlight part. I am a bit sassy. I’m sure my hubby would say a lot sassy and downright stubborn like a mule; but I thought spitfire was a good way to describe me. That is how the title of my blog came to be.

Some things to know about me. I am a wife and mama to a rambunctious little boy. Those are two things that I wouldn’t trade for the world and my number one priority. This past year had me reflecting on what goals do I want to achieve for myself and for my family. By finally settling on my big dream, becoming an entrepreneur and growing multiple businesses – one with the hubby and another for myself – is currently what I am working on. I am going to share what to look out for and what works for me as I go along.

My main hobbies are reading and sewing. For reading, I always have several books on my nightstand that are on the next-to-read list. I usually lean more to the mystery and personal development genres. These days, there are a few more business books in the stack. Sewing is something I do when I feel the need to make something. I am currently a member in two groups that sewing takes the main stage, the American Sewing Guild and the Houston Area Regency Society (think Jane Austen). We are going to the Jane Austen Festival in Louisville, KY this summer so stay tuned on my thoughts from that experience. I can tell you that I have a ton of sewing to get done before now and then; so my family has multiple regency outfits to wear that weekend.

I have been focusing on implementing a healthier lifestyle for myself. No lie, it has been hard. I am disciplined in so many other areas of my life that I am on the struggle bus when it comes to not eating crap and working out regularly. I am pretty sure that running away from the truth doesn’t count as exercise. I have been trying to do major shifts in what I’ve been eating and exercising using the Beachbody program has been helping keeping me accountable.

I am looking forward to what this new journey has to bring.

 Until next time,

Megan
